I was thoroughly enjoying watching the raven-headed lady dance. She had the voluptuous body of a goddess—curvy hips and the most exquisite face. Once our eyes locked, there’d been a magnetic force between us. This woman was the pure definition of beautiful. Enchanted by her spell, I couldn’t look away. She rocked her hips in a sensual hypnotic groove. My mouth parted—she was teasing me. I couldn’t help but smile. She grinned, too, and appeared to be undressing me also. I couldn’t be luckier that she seemed into me. Normally, I wasn’t a dancer, but I was about to say screw it and join her on the floor. Her body was calling to me.

Suddenly, a furious boom vibrated through the room. The commotion interrupted our lustful stare down.

“The Popo are here. Everyone scatter!” a dude hollered.

A boatload of enforcement bum-rushed inside, after kicking in the door. The first wave of them attacked the band. Both male singers got hit over the head with clubs. The female singer attempted to help her bandmates, getting tasered in the process. The dudes were out cold, while she trembled on the ground. Other people were trying to resist and getting beaten to a pulp.

“Come the back way!” Tobias yelled at the lady he’d been dancing with.

A good idea, before we went down, too. We had a small window of opportunity, being toward the back of the room. Tobias’ girl tried to grab her friend’s hand, but she was engulfed by the fleeing crowd. People were practically climbing over each other to get out. A ton weren’t making it, getting struck with clubs or tasered with stun guns. Her friend tripped and fell down. I couldn’t let her take the fall. I rushed over to help.

“This way!” I shouted over the ruckus. Glancing up frantically, she took my extended hand. A spark of energy pulsated between us on contact. Wasting no time, I pulled her quickly through the stampede. Unfortunately, we didn’t get far. Smoke polluted the air in huge billows when the officials let off grenades. The crowd started coughing.

“Cover your mouth!” I yelled. The smoke was making it difficult to see, and I was losing my grip on her hand. Just a little farther. We were so close to the rear door. A chick behind us got zapped. She fell, pulling my lady. Unable to maintain her balance, she went down as well.

Unfortunately, that delay sealed her fate.

One of the bastards tasered her, too. She whimpered, shaking violently. Rage filled me to my core, seeing her in pain. I rushed toward her but was bombarded by two officers. One popped me in the head. With my adrenaline rush, it wasn’t too painful. I’m sure I’d have a knot later.

Moaning, my lady attempted to scramble to her feet, and then that prick lit her up again. This time she screamed, and then her body grew very still. I wanted to murder him! Red infiltrated my vision. I didn’t struggle with the lawmen that held me long—the Taser asshole came over to me, gloating. He used the stun gun, sending electric shocks of pain through me.

I’m not gonna lie, it hurt like hell. My body shook uncontrollably, and I blacked out for a moment.

She likes to read, watch tons of TV shows, and movies. She's addicted to romance and gets a thrill out of action and sci-fi. She writes New Adult and Adult, Romance.
