Today I’m speaking to Reinier, who’s one of the main characters from Heidi Catherine’s novel, The Soulweaver. He’s in his thirties and has a large scar running down the left side of his face. His hair is blond and he’s handsome in a lean, athletic kind of way. Let’s find out more about him.

* Hi Reinier, I’ve heard that you’ve been searching for someone. Can you tell me who it is and why you’re looking for them?

That’s right. I’ve been trying to find my soulmate. She’s not proving easy to find!

* Aww, that’s very romantic!

Not really, it’s not like that. Well, it’s not always like that. You see, we’ve been soulmates in our different lifetimes for over a thousand years now. But in this lifetime we’re being kept apart.

* Who would be keeping you apart?

Mother.

* Your mother?

No. Mother. She’s Mother to all of us. She’s a Soulweaver, which means she’s responsible for weaving all of Earth’s souls into the life they’ll live next for the good of the planet.

* So why would she keep you apart? Surely finding your soulmate is something that she’d want you to do.

You’d think so, but she’s lost her way. She knows that if I find my soulmate, together we can put a stop to her. And she’s determined not to let that happen.

* And how do you know all of this?

Some people call me an enlightened soul. Somehow I just know things and I’ve held onto memories of my past lives. I have dreams and visions that tell me things. I know it sounds crazy, but I really can’t explain it better than that.

* When did you last see your soulmate?

When she was a girl named Hannah and she lived on the edge of an Australian forest. I was there when she died. I tried to save her but Mother was too strong. That’s how I got this scar on my face. Hannah’s been reborn now and that’s why I’m trying to find her again. Because this time Mother isn’t going to win. I’ll be keeping her safe no matter what.

* Do you have any idea where she is?

I thought she was in China, but I’ve just figured out she’s in Hong Kong. I’ll be catching the next flight I can to get to her. I just hope I can convince her to listen to me. Otherwise, we’re all in trouble.
