Griff returns to Key West to do a favor for his old boss, expecting to show up and help and then get back home to his real life in a day or two. All he really wants is to have a stabile life, make enough money that the woman of his dreams wants to be a part of his life, and then he can fianlly live happily ever after. His only regret about leaning his slavage crew before was not saying goodbye to his best friend Bug. Bug has spent the last few years alternating between being sad and mad that Griff took off without a single look back. When he shows back up in her life she resolves to not tell Griff about her feelings of love and act like nothing was ever amiss. But when danger and close quarters force Bug and Griff into a tricky situation, can they keep their feelings under control and focus on the prize of the lost treasure?

Told in dual narration by both main characters (which is how all romance books should be!), Bug and Griff, the reader gets to be immersed in the romance, struggle, action and heartbreak that makes up this story. Tricia created a fast paced romantic suspense that kept me turing the pages and I was fully immersed in the story and the chracters. The only reason that I took half a star away was due to how mad Griff made me with his inability to see what was right in front of him. Obvisiously I was very into the book enough to have my feelings hurt for Bug. I highly recommend this series for anyone who likes non-stop action, a cast of characters that make an odd sort of made family, an impossible treasure hunt, and a sweet slow build friend to lovers romance (that has a nice dollop of steam!). I love that I get a new group of people to meet and root for with this Lost Souls' Treasure series, I had been missing the Key West Escape group. The thing that this author does best is her characters, they are so developed and real, I feel like I know them and connect to their struggles. Be aware that you will fall in love with the people and adventures when you start this series.

Andi dreads the anniversary of the death of her father, and to make it worse, it seems like something bad happens that day every year on top of the emotional sadness. When her twin brother Jordan gets tickets to their father's favorite music festival that happens to fall on the dreaded day, Andi looks forward to creating new positive memories. What she never expected when heading to the festival was how intense her 3 day weekend would be and all the truths she would discover about herself along the way.

Overall I found this to be a fun, lighthearted, fast paced read that was easy to read and the perfect weekend escapism- it really felt like I was transported to a hot, sticky, gritty and perfectly wonderful outdoor music festival, it was all felt so real due to the level of details. The story took place basically over three days during a music festival, making the story more intense since it was such a short time frame. This was the perfect read for anyone who loves all things in the music experience, family issues, teen romance, going on an adventure to find yourself, social media and the world involving influencers and hashtags, the joy of crafting, standing up to bullies, and everything outdoor summer festivals. This Is For Tonight was a solid read nd I can't wait for what is next from this author.

A pair of guards opened the giant doors, bowing at Thomas as he guided me through. It was an actual struggle not to freeze at the entrance and stare. But man, did I want to. This place—while definitely what I would consider on-brand for a vamp nest—was one of the most magnificent buildings I’d ever been in. I wasn’t particularly interested in other churches, but this cathedral was just a beauty. A gallery of pews sat to the left and right of a wide aisle that led to a raised dais. Vampires filled the seats, dressed similarly to Thomas and me, their voices a low buzz of conversation. More people were sitting in the upper gallery, their opulent gowns and sharp tuxedos a happy reminder that Thomas had my back. Had I walked in here with leather pants and a whip on my hip, I had a feeling I would have been just a touch out of place.

Thomas continued his leading, guiding me down the aisle toward a stunningly severe woman sitting on what appeared to be a throne. Skin paler than death, eyes vamped out in a way that seemed permanent, and painted lips the color of blood, she was the most beautiful and yet most frightening woman I’d ever seen. Dark hair was piled on her head in purposefully haphazard curls, a few tendrils snaking out of the complicated up-do to artfully caress her neck. She wore a brilliant green gown that was so simple, and yet so achingly complex, it had to have cost a fortune.

We reached the end of the aisle, and Thomas bowed his head slightly. I copied him, wishing I would have received an etiquette lesson on the hour-long drive here. All I’d gotten was Thomas’ clenched jaw and silence.

“You have some nerve,” a woman growled, drawing my gaze from what had to be the queen of this nest to her right.

I quickly realized that the voice did not belong to a woman at all but a child. Pale-blonde hair and blue eyes were set in an elfin face of a vampire who had likely been no more than ten when she was turned. And that had to have been centuries ago. This little whisp of a “girl”—and I use that word lightly—had the look of a being older than dirt. Dressed in a black lace confection appropriate for a child beauty queen, she stood from her chair.

She then launched herself at Thomas.

I couldn’t exactly say why I did it. I mean, she had me by centuries, and Thomas could take care of himself. But as soon as her feet left the dais, I had the knife Clem had given me yanked from its sheath and was in front of the man in an instant.

Thomas owed me, not the other way around, but he’d been kind to me when I’d needed it, and I wouldn’t let him get attacked. No way, no how.

It was as if everyone froze. Conversations halted, guards stood stock-still, and even this slip of a thing stood arrested at the end of my blade, which was poised at her throat.

To this tiny—but by no means less deadly—vampire at the point of my knife, I said, “Settle down there, Blondie, or we’re going to have a problem.”

I had a feeling we probably already had one.

Sloane has no idea where her life is going, but when she ends up touching a cursed item things get even worse for her- looking like a skeleton will not make blending in to the regualr paranormal world any easier than it currently has. Trying to keep her head down does not seem to be working out for her so she might as well take out some enemies while everyone finds out her secrets. But some secrets she can't hide from, in fact they are coming for her.

Consider my mind blown since here I was, minding my own business, reading this book super content like, when BAM! I realize that this Soul Reader world and the world from the Grave Talker series meet in the most serious of ways! I had no idea this was going to happen (even though there had been references to a certain murdery soul stealer in book 2 of the grave talker series and some characters I should have picked up on) I just never saw it coming. That being said, I am on a countdown for a cross over, which has to happen soonish or my head might explode. This was super exciting to put together and I need more asap.

Keep in mind that both series (up to book 2 in each since that is all that is currently out) are independent series and do not need to be read together to enjoy- but I highly recommend reading both because something epic is on the way!

Ok, enough said so I don't spew all the spoilers I want to discuss, just know that this was intense. Overall this was a fantastic, super fast-paced read that I blew through in a day since I did not want it to put it down. There was tons of action, a lot of twists, paranormal elements as well as a surprisingly sweet romance. I can only guess what the next book will hold but count me in as soon as it is available!

Genre: Another-World, Retelling, Romance, Royal-Court, Supernatural, Suspense--

Wings of Fury was a super interesting take on the origins of the Greek Gods, told from the unsuspecting eyes of a girl who just wanted her freedom. I have come to expect strong female characters and lots of action from this author and this was another great example of that. I enjoyed how this took the traditionally excepted Greek mythology and ran with it to create something new and fresh from the typical with some surprising twists I could not have predicted.

While the ending was for the most part (or at least at a temporary truce) resolved, this is the first book in a series and there is so much more to come with what I expect to be a crazy epic battle with the Titans. Side note for those familiar with the author's other books, this is not a YA novel, more a New Adult series due to sexual content.

Moral of the story is that Rain seriously can not catch a break! This boy keeps finding himself in terrible situations, and only his own street smarts, level head and sheer determination are the tools needed to save the day. This sequel took the happy ending of Haven and ripped it apart, leaving a devastated Rain only a week to pick up the pieces of his life as well as solve a dangerous and deadly mystery and get the girl he loves before the Alpha cerimony.

The plot was fast paced and engaging, the mystery was twisty, and the action was fabulous, but my favorite part of this story was the characters. I just adore Rain, I would not change a thing about him and I like the spin on this series that he is the narrator and perfectly open about his feelings and past with the reader. Another twist I enjoy about this series is that Freddie is the alpha all powerful wolf as a teenage girl and for the most part, most people accept it as fact. But we also have some other great side characters like Grant with his unknown motivations and the wereolf pack/ cousins to help balance out the dynamic. Can we just spend a minute talking about how badass Petra was? She singlehandedly was fighting off all the zombies on her own, totally handaling it like it was just another day- which in her life, it totally was. I know Freddie is considered the ultimate female here since she is the Alpha werewolf and super dominant, but Petra I think is right up there and can hold her own. I would love for her to get her own book in this world! Ok, tangent over.

I feel like where most things were tied up well, this sequel felt a little like there could be a third book in the series. I had no idea there was going to be a second with how perfect the ending was to Haven, but with this I think another book could be an option- but maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part since I am not sure I am ready to say goodbye to Rain and this moderetely dysfunctional werewolf pack. I think this siries is perfect for anyone who loves a solid and empathetic narrator who tries to do the right thing, girls taking charge, all things werewolf, shady yet powerful witches and even a zombie or two thrown in.

Ellie wants nothing more but to continue her life just like it is, with her perfect relationship with her boyfriend and her friends, a happy senior year just as it should be. But when her boyfriend starts ghosting her just as the year begins and then next thing she knows he is hooking up with his long time best friend, and all the people she thought were her friends pick a side that is not hers, she is not really certain how to move forward. It seems like Ellie is in a for a lot of changes her last year of high school, most unexpected in the best of ways.

This book gets all the stars from me- if there were more than 5, I would give them for sure!

I stumbled across this book months ago on my book social media sites and was instantly drawn to it from the delicious looking cover alone- I confess that I have a pretty severe obsession with ficiton novels having anything to do with food, be it eating or cooking and a whisk covered in yummy pink batter seemed just about perfect. Fast forward to now, and I was really hesitant to actually start readingin this novel due to my recent reading experience. I have been in a reading slump the last month or two, especially when it comes to YA contemporary, nothing has worked well for me. I came to the sad conclusion that maybe I reached the age where I am just too old for a YA romance/coming of age story, but now after having read The Secret Recipe For Moving On I can say that I am back on the YA contemprary bandwagon- at least when it comes to this adorable, feel good read.

The Secret Recipe for Moving On is hands down my favorite read of the month (and I read a LOT so that means something, I swear) and my favorite YA contemporary of the year so far. I would not change a single thing about this story, it all just worked so well to create a feel good story with heart and humor and I think everyone should go pick this up. I have already told all my freinds about how they need to read this book and I highly recommend it for anyone who likes resilient main characters, a solid plot with character growth and direction as well as the best quirky bunch of side characters. I can't wait to get my hands on anything else this author wants to create and I have no idea how this is her debut novel, it was basically perfect in my totally fan-girl opinion.

Rainey lives a double life nobody knows about, by day a homicide detective and at night the last in a long line of Vampire Hunters. When a typical vampire hunt goes horrible off course, Rainey realizes that there might be more going on in the supernatural community than she could have guessed. To make matters more complicated, two mysterious men show up and try to assist Rainey in her hunt, both with complicated pasts and motivations, making her unsure who to trust. With the danger in the city increasing and her own past coming back in a surprising way, Rainey needs to make hard choices and decide where her destiny should take her.

I love all things Urban Fantasy (hands down my favorite genre) and I was super excited to jump into this new series I knew nothing about. I will admit that I was uncertain if this was going to be more action/urban fantasy or a paranormal romance but I can 100% confirm that while there was a tiny dash of forbidden romance with a single not detailed sex scene, the story was completely action and danger packed. There was some great supernatural world building that I appreciated, a darker side to the sparkly vampires that seem so common now- instead we have a dangerous blood thirsty hierarchy and a few remaining hunters who have special enhanced abilities to stand against the rising darkness. I loved learing about the world as well as Rainey's super complicated past as well as her relationship dynamic between her and the side characters. I also liked that while there was personal angst and paranormal action, there was also the interesting aspect of the police investigation/pocedural part to the story that kept the story unique.

The story was dual narrated by Rainey and Elijah, alternating at chapters, and I am a huge fan of dual perspectives (which is also why I was a little uncertain if this was a romance since that is more a romance thing to do). While the book was basically split evenly between the two charcters, I feel as if this was more Rainey's story than ELijah- maybe because I learned more about her and felt more connected to her as a person than with the elusive super old vampire. I am really glad the story was dual narrated though since I feel like this way I was able to experience the entire story insted of being left- but yet again, I am a sucker for dual narration.

Overall this was a great start to a new series that I will very definetly be finishing. I will admit to being shocked at the ending to this story, it was very much a huge shocking cliff hanger that I never saw coming, and almost nothing was resolved here so be glad the rest of the books are ready available to jump into. The Vampire Huntress Chronicles are a great choice for anyone who wants more vampires or urban fantasy in thier lives as well as a great paranormal based mystery.
