Genre: Graphic Novel, Historical, Hysterical, Suspense--

I was so entertained my Mr. Selim, Delilah's unwilling companion. The conversation between the two was hysterical and his random daydreams were so detailed and ridiculous I could not help but be rooting for him. I also loved how gender roles were switches in this story, Delilah was this amazing, competent, confident warrior woman and Selim was a mind mannered, hesitant, inadvertent sidekick who stayed out of the fray and made the best cup of tea (which I too can appreciate in a man). They were the best example of opposites making a good team, the planner and the impulsive doer. I do have some questions about the Great Space Goose though...

I loved all the mischief and adventures that Delilah purposefully and inadvertently got into. The entire graphic novel was a non stop adventure of what Delilah was capable of, and her skills really were legendary! I found it interesting and very unique that the story was narrated by Mr. Selim but focused on the mayhem he was involved in through Delilah- it was kind of like a journal of her adventures but told by another.

I had never heard of this graphic novel series before I saw this blog tour but I am so happy I discovered it. Delilah Dirk was the best mix of action/adventure, humor and history, ending up with a captivating story that I loved and I would easily recommend it to any and everyone. I can't wait to continue the adventure with the ridiculous and impressive Delilah and I wonder at what other traveling companions she acquires along the way!

In an alternate reality, Fables walk among man, part of the human world while still retaining the magical talents they are known for. A special group of Fable operatives are tasked with keeping mankind safe through covert ops and morally questionable actions. The world may know about the Fables, but humanity has no idea what kind of danger they may be in.

I have heard that the Fable graphic novel series was awesome for years, but I never knew where to start since there are SO many books and spin offs and individual stories, so I put off starting them. When I discovered this story and saw it was the first in it’s own little storyline, I jumped at the chance to get my feel wet in the Fables world. I am in love with the concept of fairytale retellings, especially when they are super different or crazy, and I had no idea what to expect. Well this was such a cool world, full of the known and unknown fairytale/nursery rhyme people and dangerous missions, with lots of gore and violence.

The most interesting parts of the plot were the snippets of the back story from the characters as well as the metamorphosis of the humans changing into new fables themselves, with altered magic and quirks (like a girl who can explode people and control her zombie family or a fake magician who becomes not so fake). This story had a few different plots intertwined, each with it’s own mysteries that did not resolve, making me hungry for the next edition.

I enjoyed the world building as well as the illustrations in this graphic novel, and I can’t wait to get my hands on ALL the Fables graphic novels. I received this title in return for my honest review.

Scooby and the gang are back, but like nothing you have seen before. This a is a new modern version of how they got together, all with backstories and angst, to try and save the world from the virus outbreak that turns people into monsters. Scooby Doo like he has never been seen before.

I am absolutely in love with the illustrations in this graphic novel. The characters look like the old school Scooby gang but with some seriously awesome twists (such as cyborg Scooby and hipster bearded Shaggy). It's like a end of the world-steampunk meets high tech gadgets, and I could not have been happier. Honestly, I loved everything about how this graphic novel was visually put together. I received a digital copy for free for my honest review, but then I had to go out and purchase a physical copy because I wanted to see the images in print and not just on my computer scree. Let me tell you, this was even better in print. Regardless of the story-line, it is worth picking this up just to look at the pictures.

I grew up with Scooby Doo and I love zombie/distopian stories so I knew I had to add this to my collection. The story was a very realistic, adult version of the cartoon, where each character has depth and reasoning for their personalities and behavior. yet it still meshed with what we know about the characters.The plot even included a perfectly scientific reason for why Scooby could talk, which I always wondered about. And ridiculous monsters included- I'm just waiting for the bad-guy speech. There was a back story for how Scooby and Shaggy met (which was my favorite part of the story), and then a back story for how Velma became the way she was in this story (incredibly cold but a super genius), mixed in with the main plot of the apocalypse going on in present time. I will say that this version of Daphne is super cool and incredibly independent (but I did want her to take Fred out of the friend box- I mean if not the end of the world, then when?) The reason I only gave the graphic novel 4 stars was because this volume started something, but NOTHING was resolved. The story ends in the middle of everything, a giant cliffhanger. But as a side note, Scrappy Doo was awesome and just as evil as ever.

Molly lacks real ambition, instead going through the motions of life while living at home with her parents and day dreaming about making a name for herself as an artist. When her father tells her to find a job or a husband, an opportunity to make money by drawing a portrait of a couples cat appears. When that somehow turns into cat-sitting for the couple, Molly uses the cat's crazy antics to make an online comic. When she gets more cat-sitting jobs and more stories for her comics, Molly has to decide where she wants her life to go.

I was not really sure what the graphic novel was really going to be about, besides something to do with an artist and cats, when I first started reading. I could never have expected what the story was really about. This had the new adult genre feel to it, with a young twenty-something woman trying to understand herself and life, caught in the act of just floating by. The emotions were very real, not at all hindered by media they were displayed on. I read a lot of fantasy and supernatural graphic novels, but this was my first time with a realistic fiction story-line, and it was just as entertaining.

The illustrations were so engaging and incredibly freaking cute. I loved all the images the illustrator created, bring Molly and her cat-centric misdeeds to life. I enjoyed the subtle random cats that showed up all over her life, be it acknowledged by Molly or not. The emotions that Molly was able to convey on her face made her feel real, like a reaction of a friend and I could totally relate. Everything had so much personality and the images were able to add to the story and the characters without having the need to have more dialogue.

Pishi stole my heart with her disappointed facial expressions and attempts to be cuddly. (The hot drink kitten trio was pretty darn adorable though too...) She was just one of the many clever ways the duo was able to create subtle as well as highly enjoyable over the top humor that kept me chuckling as well as rooting for Molly to "grow up". I recommend any cat lover and graphic novel lovers to pick up this fun, fast read, and I look forward to more from both the author and the illustrator.

This is a collection of 4 different cases that Wynonna, her boss Dolls, the mysterious John Henry and the secret team of US Marshalls was involved in to take down the paranormal criminals that target unsuspecting humans. Ultimately, the different cases come together to create the background story for who Wynonna is and what she can do.

I am a huge fan of the television show Wynonna Earp so I was super excited to get my hands on the graphic novel. The illustrations really helped the story come to life, and the personality of the characters was easily seen through the facial expressions/actions created by the illustrators, regardless of there not being a ton of dialogue. I don’t know which came first, the show of the graphic novel, but the characters looked just like I had anticipated them to, which I was very happy about. As a side note, the basis of the storyline is not the same as the television show; it is something entirely its own with only bits and pieces to tie back. (But can I mention that Valdez is an awesome character with the most interesting back story, so I would love to read/and or see more of her).

I think this is a good read for anyone who wants something a little different, paranormal with a flare of history/old west vibe, and lots of shoot ‘em up action. Wynonna is a really strong female character that can hold her own with the best of them, full of sass and swagger, yet willing to risk her life for others. I enjoyed this version and look forward to more from the Wynonna Earp world.
