Blog Tour & Giveaway: Dirty Love & Filthy Lies by C. Shell

Book Blurb:

Dirty Love & Filthy Lies

by C. Shell

Genre: New Adult Romance

Some girls dream about Prince Charming.

They want a perfect house with a white picket fence, money, security, and a name for themselves.

I am not one of those girls.

Growing up on the wrong side of the tracks, all I dreamed about was getting out of our small town, going to college, and making enough money to help support my family.

Love was not in the cards for me. And then Conner happened.

With a body made from pure sin, he was a bright spot in my dreary life.

The unattainable high school star, he came in like a white knight, sweeping me off my feet.

Everything between us was moving on fast forward until it wasn't. Lies surround us at every turn and I've got to figure out what is real and where the mirage begins.

My Review:

3.5 Stars

Genre: Heart-Wrenching, Romance--

Based on the synopsis, I thought this was going to be an angsty NA love story. But really, this is a whole other type of story, full of betrayal, manipulation, bitterness and hurt- and it definitely had the angst I was expecting, just in different ways! And it doesn't hurt that there happens to be a sexy, super talented and good natured tattoo artist in the story for a perfect boyfriend option.

Some of the details in the story were a little far fetched, like a guy about to gradate from college becoming a partner at a law firm- you know, without a small minor thing like going to law school or passing the bar. Other times things were confusing like maybe something was missing or out of order in the plot. If you can overlook things like that, the emotions and feels were 100% real.

Connor was a total manipulative jerk, I hated him from page one when he was caught in the act of cheating and my fury towards him grew as his cruelty eeped out of the pages. I found it surprising that he was a brief narrator of this story as well, but seeing through his eyes did not endear me to him at all.

My favorite part of the book was the relationship between Emma and her best friend Becca, as she puts it in the story they are "ride or die" and "the jam" to her "peanut butter". The two had each other's backs in every situation and they are the perfect example of friendship that everyone needs.

The ending to this book was shocking and devastating and enraging and I need the next book. I had no idea this was going to be such a messy rollercoaster or a series, but I am totally in this mess now and need more. I am ready for some good old fashioned revenge to come.
