Review: Witch's Honor (Bloody Hearts #2) by Anya J. Cosgrove
Book Blurb:
First rescued by two smoking-hot brothers and now torn between them, what’s a witch to do?
Be good? Or wicked…
Alana is still a long way from mastering her magic when she embarks on a journey to save other witches. Jealousy and secrets fester as she can’t help but fall for the two insanely similar but drastically different men in her life.
She has to choose between light or dark. Human or demon. Thom or Liam.
But her alluring roommates will soon be the least of her troubles. From deadly angels to uncovering her legacy as a Garrett witch, Alana’s life is about to change once again. And the maniacal demon that almost devoured her is still alive, biding his time…

My Review:
5 Out Of 5 Stars
Genre: Heart-Wrenching, Mystery, Supernatural, Suspense, Urban Fantasy, Witches--
Keep in mind that this is not a standalone, you need to read the books in the Bloody Hearts series in order to really know what is going on and fully appreciate the mess that the characters have gotten themselves into.
Random FYI but it took me almost the whole book to realize that the chapter headings were song titles that matched the chapter's vibe! And they were the best songs, basically the soundtrack to my life (...maybe the perfect soundtrack for the book now that I think about it...) with such a random selection of alternative and pop. I feel like I need to reread the book and listen to each song during that section- I love playlists!
I am not sure how I am suppose to encompass all my feels into a review, because honestly I just feel like a total rambling fangirl at this point. I finished the book a few weeks ago but I was waiting to write my review hoping over time I would come up with some eloquent words to express my love, but really that did not happen. I knew when I first picked up book one, Shadow Walker, to read, that this was the series for me, and Witch's Honor reinforced that. There is non-stop action, lots of surprising mystery and twists to keep me on my toes and freaking shocked, great characters and world building, real heartbreak (for the characters and me)- and some steamy not-quite angsty romance.
So this is very much a love triangle (a la Urban Fantasy style, heavy on the action/magic, low on the actual romance) and I usually ACTIVELY DESPISE love triangles but I am willing to overlook this one (mainly because I did not fully understand it was a love triangle when I picked up the first book Shadow Walker and you would have to pry these books out of my cold dead hands to make me stop reading now!). We have Alana, totally new to this world and overwhelmed with everything, drawn to Thom the sweet understanding brother- and to Liam the dangerous angry brother who she knows she should not want and who keeps pushing her away. I know who I want her with from the very beginning, I was rooting for a HEA in the worst kind of way- BUT that is not this story. There will be no happily ever after found within these pages, only hurt and miscommunication. But I still have hope, hope that can never be crushed even in the face of poor judgement and loss of humanity.
So that being said, I would like to pause life and just binge the last book in the trilogy because this ending hurt so bad! Anja has easily become one of my favorite paranormal romance/urban fantasy authors (even though she does mean things to her characters) and I will gladly read whatever she wants to write.

Catch up with the first book in the Bloody Hearts Series!
Book Blurb:
Nothing stays black and white in a world full of shadows.
I’m Alana Mitchell, and for my twentieth birthday, I got a brand-new magical destiny instead of the laptop I was saving for.
I’m a witch. I have powers I can’t control, enemies I know nothing about, and a legacy I can’t begin to grasp.
A renegade demon and his brother rescued me, but they are driving me crazy with their I-know-better attitudes, beckoning stares and stupidly handsome faces.
I want to hunt the bastards that destroyed my future, but the brothers’ past is catching up to us in the form of a smart, bitter, and deadly enemy, one who will stop at nothing to possess me.
To survive, I must embrace the darkness simmering inside me and unleash the devil within, no matter the consequences…
Shadow Walker is the first book in an urban fantasy/paranormal series filled with action, suspense, and smoking-hot men. Demons, witches, forbidden love…
