Blog Tour: Incognito by Siobhan Davis

Book Blurb:

A new adult STANDALONE college romance from USA Today bestselling author Siobhan Davis.

A troubled popstar forced into hiding… A sweet small-town girl overcoming tragedy… And the kind of love that only happens once in a lifetime.

Dakota’s dreams of attending Juilliard were shattered the night tragedy struck her family. It’s one year later, and she’s now enrolled at a local university trying to piece her life back together.

Shawn is one of the world’s most famous faces, having lived under a spotlight since his star exploded when he was fourteen. Now jaded by an industry forcing him to perform music he no longer enjoys, he craves normalcy and the opportunity to rediscover his muse. When a crazy stalker gets too close, and death threats start mounting, Shawn’s management team comes up with a plan—one which will allow him to work on his latest album while staying incognito on a college campus.

Romance is the last thing on Dakota’s mind, but after she crosses paths with a hot, prickly cutie with rock-hard abs and smoldering good looks, she can’t shake him from her thoughts.

Shawn can’t afford to bring any girl into his fucked-up life, but the gorgeous blonde with the sad blue eyes captivates him in a way no girl ever has, and he finds himself falling hard and fast.

But outside forces are conspiring against them.

When danger draws closer, and secrets are revealed, will their love survive?

My Review:

4 Out Of 5 Stars

Genre: Mystery, New Adult, Romance, Suspense--

Shawn is tired of the break-ins and threats he has been getting, he just wants some peace to get his life and music figured out. When the crimes against him escalate, his manager hires a security team and relocates him to a small college town to lie low. Dakota has been barely surviving the last year after the tragedy that destroyed her family, but is finally attempting to move on and go to college. She never expected to meet a new guy she was instantly drawn to, one that plays hot and cold with her emotions. Shawn never expected to meet such a sweet yet damaged girl and his conscience tells him to keep her out his dangerous life- but his heart tells him otherwise.

What a romantic train wreck I just took a ride ! I know Siobhan like to bring the feels out in her readers and this was another prime example of that. I was sucked into each of the characters personal tragedies, rooting for them to get some peace of mind as well as be together. I really think that Incognito is as close to a happily ever after that a realistic romance could be...and it was pretty dang swoon at times. The book had heartbreak in all it's glorious and terrible ways, romance and love, mystery and suspense, personal turmoil and growth and a huge chunk of heat. Yep there was steam coming off the pages so maybe read the book with one of those little battery operated hand held fans, just saying.

Yes please to contemporary romances that are dual narrated by both romantic partners! I am super nosy and need to know everything (in books and in life), so this way I get to see both sides and understand the characters and their motivations. Shawn has been a hot mess but attempting to get his life back on track and Dakota had her life ripped away from her and doesn't know how to keep going. Together they help the other heal and understand what it means to live and love. I just wanted to squish them tight for how adorable they were together. And yes, there is a big heaping pile of angst in this book so if you want an emotional roller coaster and the push and pull of happiness this is the perfect read!

Siobhan makes the best characters for me to root for and this is another great book that was predominantly character driven. I really liked both Shawn and Dakota as people and as a relationship. Sure they both made some bad choices (cough cough Shawn more than Dakota, but he way made up for it!) but they realized what mattered most. Also the side character introduced were intriguing and I would love to get more books featuring them (Tabs please, that girl was crazy in a good way!) To look forward to. (I had no idea that Devin already had a book but now I need it!)

I am super sappy for this book and highly recommend it for any NA contemporary romance fans out there! Siobhan never let's me down and this was another great standalone read.

I am voluntarily reviewing a complementary copy of this title.
