Review: Summit of the Wolf by Tera Shanley

Book Blurb:

An Unbreakable Bond

Morgan Carter is a claimed werewolf. Only her mate, Greyson Crawford, has the right to protect her, and to love her. But that hasn’t stopped rival packs from challenging Greyson’s claim. Morgan is the last silver wolf—the only female with the ability to produce werewolf offspring, which means there are many who would defy pack law to make her their own.

An Unstoppable Evil

When war comes to the Silver Wolf Clan on the eve of The Summit, Morgan and Greyson have no choice but to fight for their kind. With the arrival of an ancient enemy, the two realize that the war has only just begun, and to survive the greatest threat they have ever faced, they must learn to trust each other again…

My Review:

5 Out of 5 Hearts

Genre: Supernatural, Vampires, Werewolves--

Grey and Morgan are just returning from their honeymoon when they are attacked by another pack determined to take the Silver Wolf. Regardless of Morgan and Grey mating, people still think they can take what they want. After losing one of their friends in a battle over Morgan, Grey and Morgan realize that they need to go to the yearly wolf summit to announce their presence and take a stand.

This book picks up a day or so after the events of the last book. I think that each book reads like a serial, and together they create one complete book. And, just in case you missed the "serial" aspect I just mentioned, that means that the books have to be read in order to get the complete story. Yet again, I love this series. It is action packed and deals heavily with the mate bond which is one of my absolute favorite things to read about.

I have made my feelings clear in the past how I feel about Grey (and Wolf), and in case you missed it, I am madly in love with him. He (they?) can do no wrong and I just want to hug him, or eat him up, I guess it depends on my mood. In the past though I have been conflicted about Morgan and her worthiness to be with my man-beast Grey. Well, my negative feelings towards Morgan have completely resolved and I absolutely love her in this book. All of her past indecision and mopey-ness have been thrown aside and it their place is a badass She-wolf who can defend herself as well as her mate. Morgan totally redeemed her past misdeeds here and I thought she was awesome. Kind of makes me want to have some swords to swing around...

Anyway, this book has a lot of foreshadowing of events to come, at least in my opinion, and I am incredibly excited to see what happens. We have the future growth of both Denver packs to look forward to as well as the introduction of the vampires and one vampire in specific who I think totally has a thing for Marissa (who has always been one of my favorite characters and I can't wait to read more about her later, hint hint Tera). Also, I desperately need Alexis to get what is coming to her because I have had enough of that devil lady.

I love this series and I just wish each book was longer since I enjoy them so much and can't wait for the next installment. I am at the point where I would gladly read anything by this author.

I received this title from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
